Wilden Village

In 1997 EKISTICS was commissioned to bring the experience of a European hillside town to Canada in the 546ha Wilden site.  20 years later, EKISTICS was asked to design the heart of the community - Wilden Village. Informed by its dramatic natural landscape, the Wilden Village realizes a mixed-use urban village integrated within the spectacular natural hillside landscape. The Waterfront Plaza establishes Wilden’s heart on the water, offering a place to enjoy restaurants, shops and services. The Village design proposes a compact and walkable neighbourhod that conserves areas of natural habitat through a network of integrated parks, wildlife corridors and preserved wetlands.
